Swiss Sailing Todays Extraordinary General Assembly cancelled
Today, Swiss Sailing wanted to elect a new president with a virtual general assembly. This has now been cancelled at short notice. Apparently, two candidates from the French-speaking part of Switzerland on their own had agreed to stand, but they both withdrew last week after clubs from the Region met for a meeting to review the situation. The Board of Swiss Sailing, for its part, proposed Christoph Caviezel SCC as president, as we reported yesterday in our news. This election has now been cancelled. Swiss Sailing will have to do without a president until the AGM in November. A corresponding press release will be sent to the presidents today.
This leadership crisis is a good opportunity to rethink the undesirable developments of the past 15 years with the escalating and costly administration and corresponding financial problems, without any benefit for the members, ie the clubs and class associations
