iQ-Foil - World Championship 2024 Lanzarote ESP - Day 5

The qualifications for today's Medal Series were completed yesterday with another 5 races. ----- The two leaders Luuc Van Opzeeland NED and Emma Wilson GBR have qualified directly for the final. Ranks 2-10 will sail quarters and semi-finals today. An almost exclusively European affair: Mariana Aguilar MEX and Grae Morris AUS in the men's event are the only non-Europeans in the final. Although Theresa Steinlein GER misses out on the Medal Series in 18th place, she wins the only available national starting place for the Olympic Games for Germany. In the men's event, the nation's starting place goes to Denmark (Johan Soe DEN, 17th place). After the early retirement of Elia Colombo SUI - he finished 56th - the Swiss were unable to achieve any top results. Sebastian Schärer SUI followed in 74th place out of 118 participants.
