Youth Sailing World Championship 2023 - Buzios BRA - Final results

The World Sailing Federation's Junior World Championships ended yesterday with sunshine and up to 20 knots of sea breeze. There were only a few shifts in the medal positions: ----- Thanks to two race wins, Marie Mazuay/Clément Guignard SUI moved up to third place in the Nacra 15, just 5 points behind the new world champions Daniel and Nora Garcia ESP. Silver goes to Cody Roe/Brooks Mertz USA. ----- With 13 wins in 14 races, Max Maeder SGP was once again in a class of his own in the Kite Foil, with Qibin Huang CHN and Riccardo Pianosi ITA completing the podium. In 5th place, Gian-Andrea Stragiotti SUI missed out on a medal by 11 points. ----- Derin Atakan TUR wins the kite foil girls' event ahead of Catalina Turienzo ARG and Mika Kafri ISR. ----- The iQ foil windsurfing titles go to Stanislav Trepczynski POL and Krystina Pinasova CZE. Robin Zeley SUI finished the World Championships in 14th place. ----- Mattia Cesana ITA won the men's ILCA 6 with a 15-point lead over Luca Zabukovec SLO, with bronze going to Joao Pontes POR. Boris Hirsch SUI finished 11th of the 45 participants. ----- In the women's ILCA 6, Roos Wind NED won with a 4-point lead over Emma Mattivi ITA, with Sienna Wright IRL taking bronze just one point behind. Viktoria Jedlinska SUI moved to 10th place after her best day (4/6). ----- In the 29er, Hugo Revil/Karl Devaux FRA took the win ahead of Alex Demurtas/Giovanni Santi ITA, with bronze going to Ben O'Shaugnessy/Ethan Spain IRL. ----- The 29er women's races were canceled yesterday, with Ewa Lewandowska/Julia Zmudzinska POL winning by 10 points ahead of Sarah Jannin/Fleur Babin FRA. Boroka and Szonja Feher HUN came 3rd, while Malena Rüegge/Liv Wicki SUI in 4th place missed the podium by just 4 points. ----- In the women's 420, Joana Faulhaber/Gabriela Vassel BRA won by a clear 22 points ahead of Mayaan Shemesh/Emilie Louviot FRA, followed by Kerkezou Iakovina/Giannouli Danai GRE in 3rd place. ----- Quan Cardi/Mattia Tognocchi ITA secured the 420 men's title prematurely. Zou Schemmel/Jean-Philippe Boudard FRA and Miguel-Angel Morales/Alejandro Martin ESP took the other medals. ----- All rankings and the final report.
