Youth Sailing World Championship 2023 - Buzios BRA - Day 2

After the moderate conditions of the start day, yesterday saw the classic Buzios sea breeze with 15-10 knots. There were 6 races for the kite-foilers. In the men's event, the very young world leaders are at the start, led by world champion Max Maeder SGP, who won all 6 races. Ricardo Pianosi ITA follows in 2nd place, 7 points behind, while Gian-Andrea Stragiotti SUI got off to a strong start in 5th place. Catalina Turienza ARG leads the fleet of female kiters. There are new leaders in windsurfing: Krystina Pinasova CZE leads the women, Leonardo Tomasini ITA is at the top of the men. Robin Zeley SUI lost a few places and is now 20th. In the men's ILCA 6, Hidde Schraffordt NED held on to the lead, with Erik Norlen SWE moving up to second place as the day's best. Boris Hirsch SUI has dropped back to 12th place. In the women's ILCA 6, Adriana Castro ESP has moved to the top with two 2nd places. She is closely followed by Emma Mativi ITA and Roos Wind NED. Viktorja Jedlinska SUI is now 12th. Hugo Revil/Karl Devaux FRA have extended their lead in the men's 29er to 12 points. Stach Vleeshowers/Pierre Jully SUI moved up to 9th place. Ewa Lewandowska/Julia Zmudzinska POL remained in a class of their own in the womens 29er yesterday, with 5 race wins in 6 runs so far they are far ahead. Malena Rüegge/Liv Wicki SUI are still in an excellent 4th place. In the men's 420, Jean-Philippe Boudard/Lou Schemmel FRA have moved to the top, level on points with Quan Cardi/Mattia Tognocchi ITA. Nino-Livio Löfteröd/Samuel Berther SUI have dropped back to 14th place. In the women's event, Johanna Faulhaber/Gabriele Vassel BRA extended their lead. In the Nacra 15, Daniel and Nora Garcia ESP have taken the lead, while Marie Mazuay/Clément Guignard SUI have improved to 4th place. All rankings and the daily report.
