Youth Sailing World Championship 2023 - Buzios BRA - Day 1

The Junior World Championship started yesterday in Buzios in moderate winds. 9 of the 11 classes were in action, and only the kiteboarders stayed ashore. ----- After 2 races, Hidde Schraffordt NED leads the ILCA 6 (48 participants/48 nations). Sienne Wright IRL is at the top of the ILCA 6 women, which also has a large fleet of 45 participants. ----- In the men's 29er, favorites Hugo Revil/Karl Devaux FRA won 2 of the 3 races, while Ewa Lewandowska/Julia Zmudzinska POL won all three of the women's races. ----- In the 420, Quan Cardi/Mattia Tognocchi ITA lead the men's race, and Johanna Faulhaber/Gabriela Vessel BRA won both women's races. ----- In the Nacra 15, Cody Roe/Brooke Mertz USA and Daniel and Nora Garcia ESP are tied for the lead. ----- The iQ-Foil windsurfers have already completed 4 races: Noë Garandeau FRA in the men's race and Merve Vatan TUR in the women's race are in the lead. ----- All rankings and the daily report.
