Optimist - European Championship 2020 - Portoroz SLO - Day 1, the Swiss

The Optimist European Championship 2020 began yesterday in Slovenia in light winds. ----- The Boys fleet, split into three Groups completed two races. Adriano Cardiqan ITA and Weka Banubandh THA, with the day ranks 1 and 2 each, are on top of the rankings. Konstantinos Portosalte GRE follows in the 3rd place. Good results by the Swiss team: Lars Dittel SUI rank 8, Simon Mille SUI (with a race win) rank 13, Arnaud Leimgruber SUI (14), Ikke Huber SUI (28) and Damian Berther SUI (52, with a 2nd race rank) are all in the first third among the 156 participants. ----- The Girls sailed only one race with Ewa Lewandowska POL and Rebacca Geiger ITA as winners in their Groups. Andriani Georgiou CYP and Valade Loman FRA follow on rank 2. Shari Carrara SUI began the Championship with 4th place, and also Lynn Moana Niederhauser SUI (rank 9), Shana Burger SUI and Morgan Mazuay SUI (14th each) are in the first quarter of the 112 participants. ----- All ranking lists, the daily news and the video.
