IMOCA Open 60, Class 40, Multi 50 Transat Jacques Vabre Day 9
Meanwhile, the three Multi-50-Trimarans have reached the Innertropical Convergence Zone (the Doldrums) and are about to cross the Equator today with Gilles Lamire/Antoine Carpentier FRA in the lead. ----- Still clearly on position one in the Open 60 fleet is the foiling 'Charal' of Jérémy Béyou/Christopher Pratt GBR now 74nm ahead of Charlie Dalin/Yann Eliès FRA and Charlie Enright USA/Pascal Bidégorry FRA. Alan Roura SUI/Sébastien Audigane FRA are 19th with a 535nm backlog. ----- The leading Ian Lipinski POL/Adrien Hardy FRA extended their advantage in the Class 40 as well. Fabien Delahaye FRA/Sam Goodchild GBR are now 45nm behind. Aymeric Chappellier/Pierre Leboucher FRA follow another 10nm back. Simon Koster/Valentin Gautier SUI are still on the excellent 4th place, but lost contact with the leading trio with a 141nm backlog on the first this morning UTC. ----- The freshening trade winds provided for good speeds in all three fleets, especially for the leading boats, all extending their advances. ----- The race tracker, the news and the videos.
