The leading half of the Open 60 fleet on the eastern route have now reached the trade winds South of the Canary Islnds and the favorite 'Charal' of Jérémy Béyou FRA/Christopher Pratt GBR was 41nm ahead of the mixed team Clarisse Cremer/Armel Le Cléac'h FRA this morning UTC. Another 35nm back are Charlie Dakin/Yann Eliès FRA on rank 3. ----- The westerly group over 400nm behind the leader was still sailing at half the speed this morning. With a 481nm backlog, Alex Thomson/Neal McDonald GBR were 18th, followed 5nm back by Boris Herrmann/Will Harris GER/GBR as 19th and Alan Roura/Sébastien Audigane SUI/FRA as 20th sailing neck and neck. ----- In the Class 40, Jan Lipinski POL/Adrien Hardy FRA extended their lead on 12nm. Fabien Delhaye/Sam Goodchild GBR and Aymeric Chappellier/Pierre Leboucher FRA are the first persuers. The fastest of the fleet were Simon Koster/Valentin Gautier SUI playing on the strength of their new scow-type Class 40 and moving up on rank 4 only 23nm behind the leader. ----- The Multi-50-Trimarans are already approaching the Cape Verdese Islands with Gilles Lamire/Antoine Carpentier FRA leading. ----- The race tracker, the news and the videos.
