After some waiting time yesterday in Enoshima, a good 15-20kn seabreeze filled in allowing to complete the full program with five Medal Races and the last qualification fleetraces for the other five classes. ----- Some surprises occurred: Quentin Delapierre/Manin Audinet FRA made a leap from 5th to 1st with a victory in the Nacra-17 Medal Race. Ben Saxton/Nicola Boniface GBR with Silver followed just one point behind. Ruggero Tita/Caterina Banti ITA are on 3rd. In the 49ers, the clearly leading Tim Fischer/Fabian Graf GER capsized on the last downwind, finished last and dropped back on 3rd. James Peters/Fynn Sterritt GBR were first ahead of Benjamin Bildstein/David Hussl AUT at equal points. No changes in the 49ersFX however with Annemiek Bekkering/Annette Duetz winning ahead of Alexandra Maloney/Molly Meech NZL, first in the Medal Race. Julie Bossard/Aude Compan FRA followed in 3rd. With a victory in the Medal Race, Louis Giard FRA jumped from 3rd to 1st in the RS:X men windsurfers. Kun Bi CHN and Pierre Le Coq FRA completent the podium. Yunxiu Lu CHN managed her lead and won for the second time in a row after the Olympic test regatta. Katy Spychakov ISR and Zofia Noceti-Klepacka POL follow in 2nd and 3rd place respectively. ----- The other classes finished their qualifications for the Medal Races of today Sunday. We shall livestream the races on www.sailing-news.com. In the Finns and Lasers Standard, the decisions have been already made: Nicholas Heiner NED leads with 25 points ahead of Josip Olujc CRO. In the Laser Standard the World Champion Pavlos Kontides CYP is 21 points ahead of Matthew Wearn AUS, who will duel with Jean Baptiste Bernaz FRA for Silver and Bronze. In the Lasers Radial, it remains exciting: Emma Plaesschart BEL is just 3 points ahead of Anne-Marie Rindom DEN. Matthew Belcher/Will Ryan AUS will be the winners in the 470 men with a 16 point lead on Jordi Xammar/Nicolas Rodriguez ESP. Kazuto Doi/Naoya Kimura JPN have moved up to rank 3. Nia Jerwood/Monique De Vries AUS are first in the 470 women 3 points ahead of Silvia Mas-Depares/Patricia Cantero ESP. ----- All ranking lists and the report of the day.
