After a week with mostly fresh winds, the first five Medal Races were sailed in a light to moderate breeze of 8-10kn yesterday. Today, the remaining five classes will held their crucial final race. We shall report livestream on www.sailing-news.com as from 11h UTC.

The RS:X men Medal Race was exciting: Mattia Camboni ITA grasped the overall victory ahead of Daniele Benedetti ITA. Louis Giard FRA advanced on rank 3. In the RS:X women, Liliane De Geus NED had everything under control winning with a big advance, but the fight for Silver and Bronze was tight and decided in favour of Saskia Sills GBR over Flavia Tartaglini ITA on the final downwind leg only.

Behind the premature winners in the 49ers, Federico and Arturo Alonso ESP, the positions on the podium remained unchanged. Benjamin Bildstein/David Hussl AUT and Sébastien Schneiter/Lucien Cujean SUI earned Silver and Bronze. In the 49ersFX, Julie Bossard/Aude Compan FRA remained on top winning the Medal Race. Melzacka/Loboda POL took Silver. The duel for Bronze went in favour of Omari/Distefano ITA replacing the tied Schöfegger/Boustani AUT on the podium.

No change in the Nacra-17 catamarans with Vittorio Bisarro/Maelle Frascari ITA on first in front of John Gimson/Anna Burnet GBR. Ruggero Tita (just selected for the Luna Rossa/Pirelli America's Cup team) with Caterina Banti ITA earned Bronze.

Winning the Medal Race as well, Nicolas Parlier FRA was the dominating first in Open Kiteboarding ahead of Théo De Ramecourt FRA and Axel Mazella FRA.

The remaining five classes will sail their Medal Races today with two premature winners: the Olympic Champions Matthew Belcher/Will Ryan AUS are first in the 470 men with a 20 point lead, 18 points is the advantage of Viktoria Andrulyte LTU in the Lasers Radial.

The fight for the Medals will be exciting in the Lasers Standard with the first 5 separated by 7 points only. Only 6 points is the difference of the ranks 2 to 5 in the Lasers Radial. In the 470 women, the duel for Gold is between Hannah Mills/Eilidh McIntyre GBR and Camille Lecointre/Aloise Retornaz FRA one point behind.

In the Finns, Andy Maloney NZL is on top 8 points ahead of Josh Junior NZL, and another 8 points back follows Max Salminen SWE on 3rd.
