The Qualification for the Medal Races were concluded yesterday on the ijssel Meer in moderate winds from the inlands.
The final decision in the Lasers Standard was made prematurely, as the leader Elliot Hansen GBR is 22 points ahead of Yuri Hummel NED on rank 2. Eliot Merceron SUI on 3rd is another 8 points behind and will fight for Silver today. In the Lasers Radial, Daphne Van der Vaart NED is 11 points ahead of Elena Vorobeva CRO. Maxime Joncker NED follows on rank 3.
In the Nacra 17, the situation is fully open with Fernando Echevarri/Tara Pacheco ESP only 5 points ahead of Gemma Jones/Jason Saunders NZL, and another 5 points back, John Gimson/Anna Burnet GBR have also a chance for the overall win.
Lucas Rual/Emile Amoros FRA start to the 49er Medal Race with a 12 points advantage on Gilmour/Turner AUS new on 2nd as best of the day. In the 49ersFX, Annemiek Bekkering/Annette Duetz NED defended their lead. Dobson/Tidey GBR follow 3 points behind. Livia Naef/Nelia Puhze SUI had a good day yesterday with the ranks 2/5/bfd, and moved up on rank 16 overall.
In the RS:X men windsurfers, Macieij Kluszczyinski POL has 7 points' lead on Yoav Cohen ISR before today's final. Zofia Noceti-Klepacka POL on top of the RS:X women with a 17 points' advantage will hardly be replaced on top.
