Olympic News 2024 - IOC confirms Kiteboarding and Mixed 470 - Decision on Mixed Offshore Doublehanded postponed

Yesterday, the IOC decided on events and disciplines for all Olympic sports in 2024. ----- For sailing, Mixed Kiteboarding and Mixed Two Person Dinghy (470), replacing the 470 men and women events, were definitely approved. The decision on the Mixed Two Person Offshore Keelboat Event to replace the Finn will be made as soon as possible but no later than 31 May 2021. The IOC is requesting an in-depth assessment of the costs, safety, and protection of the athletes. Furthermore, the number of sailors eligible to participate in the Olympic Games has been reduced from 350 to 330. ----- The IOC communiqué and the statement of World Sailing.
