IMOCA Open 60 Vendee Globe Day 20 Charlie Dalin FRA is pulling clear
As first of the top trio, Charlie Dalin GBR ('Apivia', Foiler) reached the fresh westerly winds in the Roaring Forties yesterday and increased the lead on his direct opponents. Thomas Ruyant FRA ('LinkedOut', Foiler), busy getting rid of the damaged foil of his Open60, was already 324nm in arrear this morning UTC. Only 33nm back followed Jean Le Cam FRA ('Yes we Cam', Non Foiler) still on the 3rd position. Yannick Bestaven ('Maître Coq', Foiler) and Kevin Escoffier FRA ('PRB', Foiler), leading the chasing group, were another 80nm behind. Bad luck again for Alex Thomson GBR ('Hugo Boss', Foiler): In a collision with flotsam, one of his rudder blades was torn off. ----- The race tracker and the reports.
