18 Footer - JJ Giltinan Trophy - Invitation Race - Final results

The international sailracing season 2020 continues in regions not (yet) touched by the Corona virus. The highlight of the coming week will be the 18-Footer JJ Giltinan-Trophy on Sydney Harbour, launched this morning UTC with the Invitation Race. The first encounter of the Australian and New Zealand teams went clearly in favour of the Aussies. The dominator of the season, 'Tech2' of Brett Van Munster AUS, was the superior winner ahead of 'Smeg' with Micah Lane AUS. The 2019 defending champions 'Honda Marine' with David Macdiarmid NZL followed on rank 5. ----- Sun and a 15-18kn breeze prevailed today during this Practice Race with 24 Teams from AUS and NZL racing. ----- Tomorrow, the Championship will be kicked off with race one. Nine Races are scheduled until Sunday, March 22nd.
