On Saturday, Francis Joyon with his maxi-trimaran IDEC started in Port-Louis FRA to his record attempt direction Mauritius, the African island nation in the Indian Ocean. This is the port of call to his Asia record tour taking him via Vietnam and China to Hong Kong, from where he will also attack the record of the 'Route du thé' from Hong Kong back to Europe.
