Francis Joyon FRA and his team reached the 40th Parallel South this morning still in difficult light-wind conditions and veered East hoping to accelerate on the Roaring Forties fast track. The reduced speed during the past days and the detour increased the backlog of 'IDEC' on the record to 734 nm, a backlog that must be turned into an advantage across the Southern Oceans to Cape Horn in the coming weeks.
