Olivier Jehl FRA planned to establish a Mini-Class record reference time for the Atlantic crossing from New York to England. He started in New York on Sunday, but a collision with flotsam, destroying the rear of his 6.50, forced him to abandon the boat. He was rescued by helicopter. An article in Seasailsurf(in French).
