In moderate conditions (around 20 knots), the fleet in the South Pacific continues to sail close together: 'Holcim-PRB' (Paul Meilhat FRA) is just 6.5 miles ahead of the trailing '11th hour' (Charlie Enright USA/Justine Mettraux SUI). At the moment the fleet is heading north to avoid a storm front, but on the approach to Cape Horn there is no escape between the ice edge and South America, winds of over 40 knots and massive waves are expected.
