Cool temperatures and offshore winds around 25kn made for a rough start to the new World Cup season yesterday on Palma Bay. First up were the ILCA's, the iQ-Foil windsurfers, and the Mixed 470. -----After two heats, Jordi Xammar/Nicole Brugman ESP and Giacomo Ferrari/Berta Caruso ITA lead the 470 classification. Nia Jerwood/Conor Nicholas AUS are 3rd. Yves Mermod/Maja Siegenthaler SUI follow in 21st, Linda Fahrni/Cyril Schüpbach SUI in 28th place. ----- The ILCA 6, divided into two groups, had one race each. Maria Erdi HUN and Maxime Jonker NED took the heat wins. Sarah Douglas CAN and Pernelle Michon FRA follow in second place. With a 13th place in her group (= rank 25), Anja Von Allmen SUI got the best start of the three Swiss women. Maud Jayet SUI follows in 29th place among the 89 participants. ----- The ILCA 7 could finish two heats. Pavlos Kontides CYP won twice. Michael Beckett GR and Philipp Buhl GER follow one point behind on rank 2. Gauthier Verhulst SUI is 57th of the 160 participants. ----- The iQ-Foil windsurfers completed 4 races. With 3 wins in his group, Samuel Sills GBR leads ahead of Finn Hawkins GBR and Andrew Brown GBR. Thanks to a heat win, Elia Colombo SUI is a good 8th. Mateo Benz SUI follows in 31st place out of the 100 competitors. ----- Hélène Noesmoen FRA leads the women's race ahead of Pilar Lamadrid ESP. ----- All rankings and the daily report.
