Fireball - European Championship - Piombino ITA - Day 1 - the Swiss

With a good sea breeze of up to 4 Bft, the European Fireball Championship began yesterday on the Tuscany coast. For Corona reasons, however, the normaly dominating English were absent. Two races were sailed, with three teams sharing the lead on equal points: Milan Cap/Philipp Prochazka CZE, Luca Stefanini/Stefano Borzani ITA and Patrice Olivier/Ludovic Collin FRA. The co-favourites Claude Mermod/Ruedi Moser SUI started with an early start, but then won the second race. Best classified Swiss are Christine Haerdi/Cedric Landerer SUI on rank 17 of the 50 teams from 8 nations. The ranking list and the event website.
