The Olympic Champions Peter Burling/Blair Tuke NZL reclaimed rank one in the 49ers in the three races sailed yesterday in moderate winds. Botin/Lopez ESP followed on the second place with a 5 point backlog. Fletcher/Bithell GBR advanced on rank 3. Today the qualification series will be concluded with the ten best going to the Medal Race on Sunday. The ranking list and the 49er news.
Martine Grael/Kahena Kunze BRA continued the series with top finishes and are now 14 points ahead of Bekkering/Duetz NED on 2nd. Alexandra Maloney/Molly Meech NZL moved up on rank 3. As best of the day (ranks 1/6/4), Paris Henken/Anna Tobias Tunnicliffe USA advanced on rank 10 and will fight to keep the top-10 in the two races of today aiming for the Medal Race of Sunday. In the Nacras 17, Ruggero Tita/Caterina Banti ITA are back on top with 2 bullets yesterday. 5 points behind follow Lin Cenholt/Christian Lübeck DEN on 2nd. John Gimson/Anna Burnet GBR remain on rank 3. The SailGP skippers and multiple champions Nathan Outteridge (with Haylee Outteridge) AUS on 13th and Billy Besson/Marie Riou FRA on rank 14 are over 20 points behind rank 10, hardly to be compensated in the last races today.
