ILCA 6 & 7 - European Championship 2024 - Athen GRE - Day 3

Light winds characterised the third day of the ILCA European Championship, for the first time a full programme with two races each could be sailed. The first leader in ILCA 7 with 2nd and 5th place on the day is Omer Vered ISR, followed one point behind by Benjamin Vadnaj HUN, Pietro Giacomini ITA is 3rd. Gauthier Verhulst SUI achieved a good 5th place in his group, he is 29th of the 136 participants - the ranking ILCA 7. In the women's race, Victoria Andrulyte LTU and Elena Vorobeva CRO are still tied at the top, Maria Erdi HUN is 3rd. Rosine Baudet SUI managed a 5th place, moving up to 15th place of the 110 participants - the ranking ILCA 6 women. The qualification hurdles for the two Olympic nation starting places to be awarded are very high: in ILCA 7 they are held by rank 1 (ISR) and 4 (SLO), in ILCA 6 rank 1 and 2 (UKR and CRO) are not yet qualified.
